TED TALK: Dave Logan on tribal leadership

I want to share with you the people who have influenced me.

In August, I reviewed two books: Tribes (Seth Godin) and Tribal Leadership (Dave Logan et al.). If you are an entrepreneur thinking about a startup or already working on one – I highly recommend you read both books, especially Tribal Leadership. Here’s my earlier review. Tribal Leadership has had a profound impact on me – it, more than anything else, has made me a better leader.

Leave a comment and tell me why you want to read Tribal Leadership. I’ll send a free copy of Tribal Leadership to at least one person who comments.

Dave Logan, one of the authors of Tribal Leadership, recently gave a TED talk about Tribal Leadership. It’s a short 16 minute talk. You’ll be thankful that you watched it.

  1. The one product that has not been reduced to outsourcable commodity is leadership. The top of the evolutionary ladder both professionally and personally is to become a stable, effective, and motivating leader. I would like a copy of Tribal Leadership to assist with moving from the knuckle dragging mouth breathing stage of my leadership evolution.

  2. I read “Tribes” twice and will probably read it again. If “Tribal Leadership” is better, I will put on the top of my list.

  3. Matt Curtin says:

Ross, i’m in the midst of bootstrapping my startup…and that also means beginning to build (and lead) my tribe. At this point I am a sponge for knowledge wanting to make sure I seek to learn from every true leader I can. In over 14 years in Enterprise Software, I have certainly learned from a lot of “leaders” as to how NOT to do it. ; )

  4. Jeremiah, Kip and Matt – rather than pick one of you to receive a copy of the book, I’d like to buy a copy for each of you and ask a simple favor in return. Once you’re done – pass it on to someone else so that they also could benefit from it. Please send me an email with your mailing address and I’ll take care of the rest.
